Working Together to End Domestic Violence

Volunteer

"Alone we can do so little, together we can do so
much." - Hellen Keller

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at The Violence Prevention Center.  Your valuable time can make a big impact on the people we serve.

How You Can Help

Due to the sensitive nature of our work, volunteer opportunities are limited.   We ask that you check our our Other Ways to Give to learn more about all the different ways you can support The Violence Prevention Center, such as collecting items from our Wish List.

Our current volunteer opportunities are through the Shelter ShopGroup Work Days, or Special Events.

Volunteer at The Shelter Shop

The Shelter Shop is a resale store that sells donated items in good conditions.  Survivors of domestic violence in need of clothing and household goods can shop free of charge.  The Shelter Shops is primarily ran by volunteers.  We need people to give up just a few hours a month to sort through donations, stock the shelves, and assist customers.  If this sounds like a great fit for you, Contact Ellen at  618-234-4704 or ellen.cugier@vpcswi.org

Plan A Work Day

Work Days are an opportunity for your employees or members to feel good about making a difference in the community where they live and work.   To meet the growing needs of the Center we are looking for groups to join us for our next planned work day.  Tasks may include cleaning, painting, minor small repairs, or landscaping.   Contact Melissa to see if this is the right opportunity for you.  618-236-2531 or melissa.tuterow@vpcswi.org

Help at an Event

Fundraising Events are a way the agency raises money to support survivors of domestic violence.  You can make an important contribution to the success of these events and have fun doing it.  We are always need volunteers to help plan, set-up, break-drown and work the events.  This is a great way to give back with just an occasional few hours.  To learn more about these opportunities contact Melissa at 618-235-2531 or melissa.tutterow@vpcswi.org
